Changes to the Love Southend Servant Team

Changes to the Love Southend Servant Team

As we moved out of the summer into the autumn, we have had had some changes of personnel in the Servant Team.

First of all we want to say a huge thank you to Nick Pucenot (pictured front second from left) who shadowed the Servant Team as part of his curacy training at St. Michael’s. It was great to have fresh eyes engaging with Love Southend, asking for clarity, bringing a different perspective to our discussions, and reducing the average age of the team by a considerable margin! Nick now needs to focus on the last phases of his curacy and the process of next steps in ministry and is stepping back from shadowing the Servant Team, but not from Love Southend per se. Thank you, Nick. We pray for God’s clear and peace-filled leading for him and the family as they look to him for the future.

At the same time, having engaged so enthusiastically with Love Southend since his move to the Salvation Army Corps in Leigh, we approached Captain Robert Davis (pictured front second right) about shadowing the Servant Team for 6 months from September. Having gone through the protocols required by the Salvation Army for such an approach to be made we are delighted to say that he has agreed to do so and has already attended his first Servant Team meeting. Robert and Clare as Commanding Officers at Leigh, with a young family, divisional as well as local corps responsibilities, and both pursuing further study, have a lot on their plate and we are so grateful that they both feel God’s hand is on this decision. Welcome, Robert! We look forward to his involvement in stewarding and taking forward the vison God has entrusted to us.
