Southend’s Afghan Guests Support Fund Enables Purchase of School Uniforms – Thank you!

During last term a number of children from among our Afghan guests took the huge step of starting school. We are delighted to say funds from the Afghan Friends Support Fund enabled the purchase of essential items including uniforms for the children. Juliet Kilpin, working alongside council staff, arranged for the items to be purchased, placed in packs and distributed to the children. Council staff and the families were very grateful. For everyone who helped make this possible, thank you so much!

We continue to monitor the needs of these families, and those choosing to remain permanently in Southend-on-Sea, so that the Fund can be used most effectively. Thank you for your support.
