Shaping the future of Love Southend

Shaping the future of Love Southend

Following the vision and consultation morning we held in March, the Servant Team of Love Southend met with a group of Christian leaders from across the city at the end of September. Robert and Clare Davis, the church leaders at Leigh Salvation Army, welcomed and hosted us. Sensitively led by Lewis Saville, worship leader at St. John’s, we worshipped together, listened for anything God was saying as we waited on him, and prayed together.

We went on to affirm the areas of Love Southend ministry that continue to have life, momentum and a sense of God’s favour and blessing.

We had honest and insightful discussions about how to make elements of Love Southend’s ministry more effective than they have been. Specifically we focused on the way Love Southend could better: foster relationships of trust and honour across the city; celebrate and serve local churches and city-wide Christian ministries; and participate in advancing God’s kingdom into every sphere of Southend city life.

It was an encouraging start to a work that is still definitely one in progress! We are very grateful to all those who have volunteered to be part of discerning God’s heart for Love Southend as we seek to play our part in God’s exciting plans for his church and the city!
