Working towards a hunger-free future

Southend Foodbank's aim and mission is to ease hunger and poverty in Southend and Rochford through the distribution of food parcels to those in crisis.

We also campaign for change so that we can see a hunger-free future.

We have eight distribution centres across Southend and Rochford where we distribute food parcels. We are open 6 days a week. We work with over 150 referral agencies who refer their clients who are in need of food to us.

In the last year, we have had a Citizens Advice advisor who works at four of our centres to provide advice and makes referrals to specialist terms withing Citizens Advice to help our guests with the underlying causes of need.

In 2022, we gave out 4686 parcels which fed 12 859 people, of which 5699 of there were children.
