We are delighted to share that Ruth Verrinder, member of Love Southend’s Servant Team, has been selected to be a finalist in SAVS’ Southend Volunteer Awards 2025 in the Connected Communities category. Ruth’s nomination was initiated by a previous District Commander of Police who experienced Ruth’s commitment to support and serve those carrying responsibility in key areas of our city on behalf of Love Southend and the Body of Christ. The nomination reflects Ruth’s passion to express the love of God in prayer, personally and corporately; in practical acts of kindness and in words of encouragement from the Scriptures and prompted by the Holy Spirit, both for individuals and groups of people including emergency services and health care workers in the city. Ruth always deflects attention away from herself in her interactions, honouring Jesus and positioning herself as a representative of many Christians and the Love Southend network.
We are delighted that Ruth’s selfless commitment to reflecting the love of Jesus to our community has been recognised – it is well deserved!
