Get Involved in Strike The Ground 10 Days of Prayer Walking in Southend-on-Sea and Beyond!

Previously in January 2026 some of us across Southend-om-Sea found Turn the Battle – 3 days of prayer and fasting very helpful. 

From April 7–16, there is a call for believers across the UK and Ireland to “Strike the Ground”.

A 10 day movement of prayer on the ground, in neighbourhoods, streets, city centres, villages, schools and regions across the nation. 

How can we be intentional in Southend-on-Sea during this time, praying for spiritual awakening, salvation, unity, and the advance of God’s Kingdom in our City? 

During Covid you might remember we had batons of prayer around the hospital – what are your ideas? 

For some of our members with reduced mobility could you pray over maps of our city. Maybe arrange a telephone prayer call with a friend. 

Some people with reduced mobility have suggested doing a bus route around the city. 

Please ask the Lord what areas He is laying on your heart. 

Part of the time (7-10 April ) is during school holidays – could you arrange to meet with some friends in a local park and prayer walk? 

Wednesday 8 April, Ruth Verrinder, Love Southend Prayer & Prophetic Intercession Co-Ordinator plans to prayer walk from the Southend-on-Sea City Council offices / Southend Police Station and especially around the roads near the Queensway development. Please email Ruth if you’re available on the 8th April and would like to be involved. 

Wednesday 15 April we have Love Southend Prayer and Worship for the City gathering, 2:30pm-4pm at Eastwood Evangelical church.
