There are over 150 special events and services taking place all over the borough and at your local Christian Church this Christmas. The Sprout advert above, featured in the free Yellow Advertiser newspaper that reached every home in South East Essex(120,000). If you still have a copy look out for the double page pullout featuring details of Christmas church events across the town (week commencing Monday 4th December).
Details of Carols, Nativities, Christingles, Midnight Communions and special Family Services will also feature in the Evening Echo and Leigh, Westcliff, Eastwood, Rayleigh & Southend Times.

The campaign by the Churches Publicity Forum (SEECPF) this Christmas also included invite cards delivered through doors by local churches around the area as a way of inviting people to their Christmas events. The campaign aims to show that all are welcome to join with their local church at Christmas and indeed at any time of the year.
David Elcock, Forum member said, ‘Pity the Sprout! the advert is a fun way to highlight the services and events taking place in churches across the area this Christmas. We want to make sure that people from our neighbourhoods know they are welcome to join with us. Just like with sprouts – as we grow older church may become more pleasing to the palate, why not try your local church this Christmas you may find you the message and people more appealing. Go on give it a try.’
David Elcock added, ‘Some of the churches are holding special music concerts, film showings and plays, Carols Concerts followed by free mulled wine and mince pies, and opportunities to wonder at the message of the first Christmas and God’s Son being born into the world as a gift from God for all of us.’
