“This fantastic event was organized by Elizabeth Butterworth from Christ Church. About seventy ladies gathered, on a very pleasant, sunny, but cool morning at 9am, for a scrumptious continental breakfast, fellowship and to hear guest speaker Kalbi Massey’s testimony!
“The setting was lovely, with beautifully arranged flowers in the church hall and the hosts welcoming the guests warmly. We were all ushered to tables and offered hot drinks. After a short introduction and welcome by Elizabeth, we were asked to help ourselves to the buffet-style breakfast. This consisted of croissants, rolls, cheese, ham, a variety of soft drinks, cereals, yoghurts and fruits.
“The warm and relaxed atmosphere, created an ideal environment, for all to converse freely and also make new friends. After a leisurely breakfast and ensuring that everyone had had plenty to eat, Elizabeth introduced Kalbi to the ladies.
“Kalbi Massey shared her testimony and included a slide-show, with relevant points of her testimony. Kalbi was raised a devout Sikh, and devoted her life to following the teachings of the 10 gurus. However, her spiritual longings were not fulfilled, until her encounter with Jesus Christ, whilst an inpatient at Southend Hospital, in January 1981. “He was searching for me before I sought Him. Christ, whom I had never expected, came to me.” Her Christian conversion in the UK should have brought family dishonour, and persecution, but it has since heralded a revival in her native Asia, where her mum, siblings and cousins share her faith.
“Today, Kalbi has a gospel rescue message for men and women of all ages and backgrounds, after joining Avanti Ministries in Essex, as an evangelist, three years ago. Her life has been transformed by the power of God, and her passion now is to share and spread the gospel and encourage others to do the same.
“The breakfast ended at 10.30am. Many left encouraged and touched by the word of God and inspired to experience the power of mighty God, in their daily lives.
“God is good all the time.”
