…from January 1st 2009 to replace David Ince, who moves on, at the end of December to take up wider responsibilities with Ascension Trust, who co-ordinate Street Pastors nationally.
Street Pastors is a Church initiative and has made a significant impact on the night life and night time economy of Southend. In the three-and-a-half years of its existence in Southend, it has established an excellent reputation across all sectors of the town.
The role of Co-ordinator is a demanding one, involving the promotion, management, funding, co-ordination and development of the Street Pastors initiative in the Borough.
As well as fulfilling the Job Description and meeting the Person Specification outlined by Ascension Trust, the Co-ordinator will be expected to take an active part in the Hope for Southend/Love Southend movement, and will be accountable to their Management Group…
It has been decided that the appointment will now be a half-time post, at a salary of £15,000 per annum (pro-rata) for an initial period of 6 months (additional normal expenses will also be reimbursed), to be extended to a permanent, full-time position as, and when, the Co-ordinator generates funding to make this possible. The Job is one which will require a creative, self-motivated individual and would best suite a professional who has taken early retirement, or a younger person with relevant experience who is seeking to establish a career in the Third Sector.
An Application Pack is available from LOVE SOUTHEND/Hope08 Chair, Stuart Kimber at RevSKimber@blueyonder.co.uk or on 01702 302255.
Closing date for applications is Friday 21st November 2008 and interviews will take place during the first week of December.
If you would like to discuss the post informally with David Ince, the current Street Pastors Co-ordinator, he would welcome your call on 07899 913670
