However plans to have a 6ft cracking Easter egg as part of the set for the evening scrambled when the gentleman making the Egg didn’t get time.
With less than 36 hours to go the church pulled in the help of BBC Essex’s roaming reporter Tom Warmington. An appeal went out on the radio on Maundy Thursday and Tom visited Leigh Road Baptist Church as part of the BBC Essex breakfast show. An appeal went out to the people of Essex to hunt high, hunt low and find that 6ft Easter Egg.
David Elcock, one of the organisers of Easter Cracked said, “We don’t mind what it’s made out of but if it’s chocolate then that would make me very happy!”
The concert will take people through the emotions of the Easter story, from prepartation, to reflection to celebration and invloveds many styles of music and performers from across the area.
Tickets are available on the door at £6 and money raised will be split between Haven’s Hospices and LRBC.
If you have a giant Egg please get in contact with David Elcock on 07967 010261. ou just could save the day!
