This Christian social enterprise is making a transforming difference in the lives of our 75 or so current volunteers in Southend and it has done so for many more people over the past 9 years. Often our volunteers have had no previous contact with churches. We are delighted to say that Shared Space is thriving and that we are right now actively seeking our next outlet, to complement those in Westcliff, Southchurch and on eBay. This is self-financing Christian mission that is bearing fruit!
We need to grow our board to reflect the fact that the charity is expanding. We are now seeking additional trustees: in particular someone able to take a lead responsibility for finance. We have an excellent (paid) finance manager so the new treasurer will be released to take a more strategic view of the finances. We seek a Christian finance professional for this role, as the board has determined that there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that this role is fulfilled by a practising Christian.
