Southend Vineyard Church are seeking to appoint a male Storehouse Support Worker to join our dynamic, caring team to work at our community café and food bank at ‘The Storehouse’, Queensway, Southend on Sea, Essex. The ‘Storehouse’ supports hundreds of vulnerable and needy people throughout the week. It is a caring, supportive environment, where people have access to food bags, hot meals and a caring community. We partner with a variety of other organizations to cater for all ages, backgrounds and needs.’ A client said: “This place is essential to me; it helps me get through the week.”
The position comes at an exciting time for Southend Vineyard as we strive to fulfil our vision of being ‘A community transformed by Jesus to bring life and hope to Southend’.
This person will support the work of the Storehouse foodbank and community café by helping clients to move on in their lives to secure better futures and be less reliant on state or external help, maintaining confidentiality at all times. It will be a physically demanding post as on occasions you will need drive our collections van and collect donations.
Job Details:
• Location: SOUTHEND ON SEA, ESSEX
• Contract: Part Time ( 22 hours a week on a three-year fixed term contract – which can be extended if funding allows)
• Salary: £11.44 per hour depending on qualifications and experience (Nat Living Wage)
• Probation 6 months
