Job Description

Job Title: Women’s Outreach Worker

Responsible to: Storehouse project manager/Senior Pastor

Working hours: 30 hours a week. Hours to be agreed with line manager.

Essential experience: Experience of working with vulnerable people. An ability to facilitate groups.

Job purpose: To support vulnerable women, particularly those at risk of sexual exploitation, within the Southend area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Reaching out to vulnerable women and sign posting them to relevant services for support.
  • Liaising with other support services and working collaboratively to support clients’ needs and well-being.
  • Accompanying women to relevant appointments, where appropriate.
  • To keep up to date records, case notes, support plans and reports.
  • To recruit and train volunteers for our outreach team.
  • To take part in our regular evening outreach.
  • To respond to any safeguarding concerns appropriately, following Southend Vineyard’s policies and guidelines.
  • To take part in regular team meetings and debrief sessions and give feedback.
  • To help facilitate the running of the Storehouse and support the rest of the staff team, especially in working with women.
  • To represent the ethos and values of Southend Vineyard in all dealings with service users and other providers.
  • To attend any training that is relevant to the role and keep up to date with developments within the sector.
