Roles and Responsibilities Training Day
This is an introduction to the Street Pastor Initiative. In this session we look at the type of person a Street Pastor is, together with some key points about the training process and how teams work on the streets of Southend.
What type of person is a Street Pastor
- Someone who is concerned for Society and the young
- Someone able and willing to build bridges
- Not a Preacher, but a Listener
- Someone who can earn the right to show or share the Gospel
- Someone who can operate without prejudices
- Someone who can work in a team
- Someone with a passion to make a difference, meeting people in the moment and love like Jesus did.
A Person Who is Aware
- Jesus wanted to understand people. In the same way, Street Pastors need to understand people and the problems they face. For example, why does someone want to get drunk on a Friday and Saturday nights? Bully others?
- Without knowledge, our prayers lack power and they do not touch or lead to action.
Southend Street Pastors are holding an open day for our community to meet our Street Pastors join our new members and meet teams. If you would like more information please visit our website or contact our Coordinator John Levitt who would be delighted to talk to you.
