Southend Street Pastors are holding a Publicity and Recruitment week at the Southend Central Library at the Forum the dates we are there from are Saturday 22 to Saturday 29 October 2022, from 8:30am to 5pm.
Southend Street Pastors have a display which explains our work and Ministry and how we serve our City and our community by Listening, Caring, and helping.
Street Pastors are Christian volunteers who look after vulnerable people in the night and daytime economy. In this manner, we provide securitas through empathy and care. Street Pastors are trained volunteers from local churches who care about their community. They patrol in teams of men and women usually from 21:30 until Midnight and our daytime patrols from Midday to 2 pm the times are very flexible on Fridays and Saturdays. Care for, listen to and help people who are out on the streets.
A Street pastor is someone who is…
- a Christian and is part of a local church;
- Concerned with Society and their local community;
- willing to engage with people whatever their perspective on life and wherever they hung out;
- happy to work as a team
