We are aware that many in Southend are living in a place of fear and anxiety about the challenge on their finances. We are also grateful for Christian ministries, among others, that are providing greatly needed support in terms of food, debt and money management, and ‘wrap-around’ care for some of our most vulnerable fellow citizens. Those services are themselves under significant pressure.
As a network we want to stand in prayer and practical support.
At our next Network Gathering on Sunday 9 October we are inviting some of these ministries to share briefly their greatest challenges and needs currently. In an atmosphere of worship we will then pray for these folk and the people they serve, expecting God to inspire us in our praying, confident in our Father who hears and answers our heart cry.
We will be providing a prayer resource for use both on the evening and for the weeks ahead. We will also be encouraging Christians and churches linked to Love Southend to consider ways they could practically support these ministries if they are not already doing so.
We are looking forward to a significant evening of standing in the gap for our city.
