Joan Brown, Senior Carers Support Co-ordinator of ‘Southend Carers’ will be joining us on this evening. Joan is a member of a local church. She will be explaining the purpose and work of Southend Carers (SC) and the way SC can support those in our congregations who are unpaid carers through the free services SC offers. We will have the opportunity to ask questions and pray for Joan and the work of Southend Carers.
Serving the lonely and isolated
Lockdowns and tier restrictions have left a legacy of isolated and lonely people. Churches have done a magnificent job of trying to keep connection with and between church members. A question for us to consider this evening. Can we take what we have learnt in alleviating loneliness and isolation within our church families and turn it outwards to love our neighbour as we love ourselves? If you know of any examples please come with your story.
