Signing Up for Unity

We have confirmation of the location, date and time for the Hands Together, Southend Against Hatred installation and signing.

Venue: TwentyOne: Unit 21, Pier Approach, Western Esplanade, Southend, SS1 2EH·
Time/Date: 10:00 am – 12.30 pm, Friday 12 November 2021

The Process. The main image will simply be repeated hands painted in bright colours printed onto a banner. Representatives from Faith, Community, Business, Charities, Police, Council, Councillors and other organisations will be invited to sign their name and organisation around the banners border. This will take place between 10:00 am – 12.30 pm on Friday 12 November.

We will also run a project, in January 2022, for schools to submit artwork for the full installation. We will work with Southend Borough Council to find a permanent location for this display of unity.

The venues location is symbolic, amongst some of the most iconic landmarks of Southend and represents our tolerance and unity across the community, which is at the heart of this City. A sign that Southend will not be divided through terror and hatred.

This event is organised, in unity, by many organisations across Southend, we are purely your point of contact. If possible, please let us know if you can join us and what time you will be there. We have received great media interest in this event.

Kind regards,
