We would love to welcome you to the Avenue Baptist Church family!

Each Sunday we gather at Avenue Baptist in Milton Road, Westcliff, SS0 7JX, opposite the Catholic Church, to worship, to grow in our relationship with God through hearing and learning how to go about applying His word, and to end our service by fellowshipping together over a cuppa and a cookie.

We can all all admit freely, and openly to being “a work in progress!” We have a wonderfully diverse group of people who we are proud to call our Church family, with many different nations gathering together as one family. It is the amazing unity in Christ that matters most, not if we all look and sound the same. The love expressed within the family is vital, and we are experiencing (and learning) how to “do” authentic and radical church – and learning from all the unfortunate mistakes we might often make.

Our spiritual DNA is a deep love for the Word of God.  We don’t change the faith to suit the culture … but we do want to be effective as Christians within our culture.

There’s an Avenue Baptist Zone Sunday School for the youngsters from xx to xx – but we do like to encourage secondary school age to remain in the main teaching – so we can all learn together.  In addition, we run a creche, to try and give mum’s some time to reflect and take a break.

If you’re not connected into a church family…why not consider popping along to taste and see.  We follow every Sunday service with refreshments and cake and biscuits, so that people can mingle and chat.
