At the next monthly Love Southend Network meeting on Sunday 10th April we are excited and privileged to have Chief Inspector Ian Hughes as our guest.
Having risen through the ranks, Ian is now the Southend District Commander and so will be able to give us an overview (from the Police point of view) of how things are in Southend, including brief updates about County Lines / Modern Day Slavery / Child Sexual Exploitation / Sex workers (inc. The Street Prostitution Strategy and Charter of Agreement) / etc.
Ian will tell us how COVID has impacted the local police (staffing levels and morale); inform us of any concerns; and let us know about any new initiatives that are in the pipeline.
We have also asked Ian to say what he would like to see in terms of “community” in Southend, not necessarily just from the Police point of view (with the suggestion that he please ‘dream’!).
There will be an opportunity for questions “from the floor” before we pray for Ian and our local police, and then close with a time of worship.
We look forward to a good attendance at our first person-to-person meeting this year – please do come and join us!
