SENDourway new Christian charity launched

SENDourway new Christian charity launched

SENDourway, is a new Christian charity set up to support families with a child or young person with any additional needs, diagnosed or not. This could be emotional, physical or behavioural.

Debbie Goddard and Jan Baugh, both experienced with working alongside families and also personal experience of additional needs, recognised a gap in provision and want to provide a safe and accepting environment for parents and caregivers to come along, give support and get support, to feel included and valued.

We are hosting a fortnightly coffee morning, initially at Eastwood Baptist Church, including arts and crafts for the parents and caregivers. It will provide opportunities to make new and lasting friendships, having fun together and being inclusive offering support to the wider family.

Details of the SEND Coffee Mornings can be found here.

We also plan to provide specific parenting programmes to enhance skills and build self-esteem and self-worth. Hopefully, this will start within the next couple of months-we will provide more details nearer the time.

The theme for this year was ‘Remain Steadfast in God’ and the core scripture was Isaiah 26:3..

‘You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.’

Opening prayers were powerfully led by several women who prayed in their native tongue from countries including Ghana, India, Malaysia, Nigeria and England. Continue Reading
